Angry IP Scanner is a program that might come in handy if you're a network administrator. With its help, you can find out if there are any unauthorized computers connected to your network and immediately check their IP addresses, hostnames, and MAC addresses.
Before starting the scanning process you need to configure several settings. For instance, you need to enter the IP range for the scanning process, choose the maximum number of threads, etc. In my testing, the program took only a few moments to provide me with the information I needed (100 threads in less than 10 seconds).
You have access to various sorting options for the found details, the ability to copy computer info to your clipboard, and export the report to multiple file formats.
The application also features an integrated search tool that helps you immediately find the information you're looking for.
The one aspect I don't like is that it occasionally fails to collect details about the connected computers. For example, several entries lacked the hostname information.
But if the aforementioned flaw doesn't mean much to you, it's definitely worth giving this utility a try. Plus, you have nothing to lose by installing it on your PC as it's free of charge.
